Promoting the integration of RES & RUE measures in historic buildings

Project Description

The project New4Old is committed to significantly contribute to Renewable Energy Sources (RES) & Rational Use of Energy (RUE) market penetration in historical buildings through a two-fold approach:

• Creation of a network of Renewable Energy Houses (REH) which will serve as focal points for the sustainable energy policy discussion in the different EU Member States & contribute to the commercialisation of RES & RUE equipments.
• Capacity building among architects and planners through guidelines and training activities in the field of building integration of renewable energy and energy efficiency into historic buildings. Inspired by the success of the REH in Brussels, it is the intention of this project to lay the ground for the creation of publicly accessible REH lighthouse projects, which will serve as a base for further stimulation of the market replication of RES & RUE technologies in the respective countries. All REH of the network will always feature the latest renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies available and will serve as demonstration projects for the proposed communication and marketing activities.

태양열에너지는 청정한 에너지이며, 그 양이 무한하다. 그러나, 에너지밀도가 낮으며 일정하지 않아서[footnote]밤이면 해가 뜨지 않고, 여름과 겨울의 일사량이 다르다. 또한, 구름이 끼면 일사량은 줄어들게 마련이다.[/footnote], 쓰기에 여러 가지 어려움이 많다.
반면에 지열에너지는 에너지밀도가 시간의 영향을 거의 받지 않는다[footnote]지중의 온도는 연평균기온과 비슷하며, 그 온도는 일년내 거의 변하지 않는다.[/footnote]는 장점이 있다. 또한, 에너지효율이 높은 편이다. 이러한 이유로 국내에서는 대체 에너지원으로 더 많이 사용되고 있다.
MIT에서도 차세대 에너지 자원으로 지열에너지를 지목했다는 얘기도 있다.(원문보기)

지열이든, 태양열이든 화석연료의 사용을 적게 하는 것이 중요하다. 우리 나라에서도 지속적인 대체에너지 개발이 필요한 시점이다.
